Rope cross-suspension on the back makes the drum very easy to hold.
The depth of the drum makes it much more resonant than a basic hand drum.

This drum features a special rough-finish Remlar-covered shell and Fiberskyn 3® synthetic head. (Remember, since the head is not tunable each drum may have a slightly different pitch.) This dundumba is part of the Classic line of imported drums from Africa Heartwood Project, great for students, schools, and drum circles. The doundoumba (largest) of the set of three is the deepest bass note in the ensemble, and is typically associated with the movement of the feet of the dancers. The Fish Graphic Ocean Drum comes with one clear Mylar head and one head printed with a realistic ocean landscape with tropical fish. It is an incredibly versatile instrument. You can play this drum several ways for multiple sounds. You can create the sounds of the waves breaking on the shore, you can play it like a deff, you can shake it like a Shakere and you can beat it like a shaman drum. To create the ocean sounds, hold the Ocean Drum by the frame, with the heads horizontal like a serving tray. The roll your wrists so the drum gently tilts in all directions. The metal beads inside will roll over the bottom head like water rolling over the shore. Try different speeds for different sounds. Stop and start suddenly to create crashing wave sounds. Hold it over your head, with the clear head on the bottom and look up at the rolling beads; you can imagine yourself under water. The Remo synthetic heads will provide years of carefree play.

Wooden two-headed drum with goatskin heads. Held horizontally, both heads are played with beaters. The dhol is used in folk music from the northern Indian State of Punjab. It provides the percussion for the popular Pujab folk dance called the Bhangra; which has now gained popularity across India. The shells are manufactured in the northern Indian State of Uttar Pradesh. There locally grown neem and rosewood are used. After transporting to Mumbai the goat skin heads are fitted to the drum shells with cords and rings for tuning. Beaters and soft case included.
